Efficient separation and identification of materials is the key foundation of e-cycling.

Our experienced staff sort through various lots of material and identify the items which have re-marketable value. These components are carefully inspected for cosmetic and physical damage. Once the inspection process has been completed, the product will be evaluated and tested at our in-house test lab. Our state-of-the-art test facility will determine the functionality of the component.

Any product that fails testing is considered for repair and once repaired, is fully tested again. Our qualified sales professionals will conduct a market analysis of the product utilizing our extensive global network to ensure maximum returns. A comprehensive report along with itemized pricing is provided to the customer.

Upon the client’s approval, the working material is neatly packaged into JEDEC and anti-static packaging and sold back into their perspective markets. Any material that cannot be repaired or has no resale value, is either returned-back to the customer or is forwarded to a R2 certified facility for proper disposal.

PROFITABILITY

In terms of generating revenue, e-Cycling versus refining will typically yield far better monetary returns. A 100lb lot of unsorted scrap memory modules with gold fingers when refined, may yield a value between $1,400.00 to $1,800.00 on average (depending on current precious metals pricing) and any refining fees which will be deducted. When e-Cycled through our process, the same 100lb lot may yield two to five times the refining value.

Memory Modules

Our trained techs fully test, not just “power on” all memory modules using in-house state-of-the-art equipment.

Careful consideration will be made for repairing and subsequently retesting any non-working module prior to deeming them unsalable.

Motherboards & Printed Circuit Boards :

When disposed of by ordinary means, these devices are very likely to end up in landfills and add to the already burdened environment. We use the most comprehensive set of test instruments for fault-finding on almost any kind of PCB and motherboard.

The VI signature analysis technique is one of the best methods for troubleshooting unpowered printed circuit boards. Since this test requires no power supply, it is essential when checking faulty boards since it may not be safe to power them up.

Mass Storage Devices:

These include both hard drives and SSD’s (Solid State Drives). There are several versions of both and unfortunately too many to list. The bottom line is that many can be professionally wiped (removing data that has been retained) and re-used thereby creating revenue. If the device is locked or encrypted and cannot be wiped, it will be destroyed and a certificate of destruction will be generated.

*If the customer prefers or requires any storage device to be destroyed, it will be rendered inoperable and a certificate of destruction will be provided.

Laptops / Desktops / Servers:

Key functions are tested, hard drives are wiped clean. If the unit is fully functional, it will be sold. During diagnostics, if failures are detected, the units will be repaired when possible. A non-functioning or non-repairable system will be dissembled in a manner to preserve its working components and then sold.

*Please note: Hard Drives and SSD’s can be removed and destroyed at the customer’s request.

R2 Considerations:

Only working functioning product is reintroduced back into the marketplace. Flyn Trading follows strict R2 guidelines.
